Pastor Ford Is The Administrative Assistant To The Prelate, Bishop Ocie Booker

Of The First Jurisdiction Of IL

                                                  History of the St. Paul Church of God in Christ

                                            Bishop Louis Henry Ford (for whom the Bishop Louis Henry

                                       Ford Expressway, located in parts of Illinois and Indiana, is named)

                                              founded the St. Paul Church of God in Christ, in Chicago,

                     Illinois in 1935. The church locations were 4633 South State Street, 5049 South Michigan and

                                           in 1943, to its present location, 4526 South Wabash Avenue.
 

                                                Over its nearly 7 decades St. Paul has been involved in

                         the ecumenical and civic affairs of the entire city. The church provided shelter, food,

                                 clothing and other relief for victims of disaster as early as the late thirties.
                        

                                   Bishop Ford led and the congregation supported his efforts to secure

                           employment and other human and civil rights for African Americans beginning in

                 the 1940's. His efforts brought acclaim to the church and honor and recognition to his ministry.

                     The congregation bought the Chicago's Oldest House, The Widow Clark House, in 1943.

                     We renovated, rehabilitated, the structure and maintained it until 1977 when the City of

                    Chicago purchased it from the church and moved it from the 4526 South Wabash to the

                                             Historic Prairie Avenue District at 18th and Prairie.

                                           It stands proudly adjacent to the Hilary Rodham Park.

                        St. Paul continues in the traditions of activism established by our founder and enhanced 

                                    and enlarged upon by our present pastor, Elder Charles Mason Ford.
              

                        Elder Charles was appointed in 1995 to fill the vacancy created upon our founders death.

                           More than 400 souls have come to the church under his leadership. The church has

                               constructed the Margaret Ford Manor, a sixty-unit senior apartment building,

                        renovated a three story apartment building for use as the Chaney Ford Education and

                         Community Center. We have under construction a 24-unit building for the disabled.

                         Programs for children, including one for in-home care of infants and an after-school       

                              program for elementary through high school students have been added to our

                   out-reach ministries complementing the quarter-century old Chaney Ford Child Care Center.

                              Pastor Ford is developing Ministries for Singles, Men, Women, and Marriage.

THE MAN AND THE MINISTRY

Superintendent Michael Eaddy Is The 3rd Administrative Assistant Of the 1st Jurisdiction Of Illinois.

Elder Michael Eaddy, along with his wife, Missionary Christine Rose Eaddy, continues in the spirit of the founding

fathers in extending a holistic ministry to the membership and residents of Chicago & surrounding suburbs.

Elder Michael Eaddy's Pastoral leadership for the past 30 years and his dedication and tenacity motivated him to

spearhead numerous programs and services to meet the needs of God's people in the spirit of the church. Elder Michael

Eaddy continues in his commitment to the reaching of youth of all ages. 

Through his leadership, the church has offered before and

after school care, tutoring, computer literacy, career counseling, Mayor's Summer Youth Employment, Toys for Tots,

Warm Feet Campaign distributing new shoes to under-privileged youth, back-to-school Grants, HIV AIDS awareness,

Drugs Prevention & Anti Violence Activities just to name a few.  In addition to this, Elder Eaddy has also provided

programs and services to adults such as Rental Assistance, Emergency and LIHEAP, offering utility bill payment

assistance for Seniors, disabled individuals and those whose service has been disconnected.  Elder Michael Eaddy has

over the years, assumed many responsibilities within the Church Of God In Christ as Jurisdictional Secretary, Public

Relations Director, District Superintendent, Administrative Assistant, Executive Board Member of the General

Council of Pastors and Elders and National Executive Director of the Scholastic Motivation Ministries Church of God

In Christ.  He continues to advance the ministry, conducting numerous programs out of a 1.3 million dollar worship,

community service and Christian activities facility constructed in 1999.

Through the years, Pastor Michael Eaddy's leadership along with his wife Christine Eaddy, has produced 9 pastors

being sent out from his ministry, and hundreds of ministry workers.  He truly operates in an Apostolic Anointing.

They are now celebrating their 32nd (as of 2011) year Pastoral Anniversary.

Together, Pastor Michael & Missionary Christine Eaddy have spearheaded many tent revivals,

street ministry campaigns and evangelistic crusades where youth, men and women alike were touched

with the love of Jesus.  Their passion in the ministry is to alleviate the downward plight of individuals

and to empower people to reach their fullest potential and realize their life's purpose.  We pray that the great

masses from the bondage of this world to liberty and prosperity only found in Jesus Christ!

THE CONFERRING OF THE HONORARY DOCTORATE DEGREE  ON  9/11/09:

Dr. Zamekio Jackson, President of the Saint Thomas Christian College & Theological Seminary

of Jacksonville, FL. was the eloquent speaker of the event;  As the Officiant, he conferred

the Honorary Doctorate Degree upon Pastor Michael Eaddy.

Meritorious Life Of Service In God's Vineyard 

                 The Candidate, Elder Michael Eaddy, Is In The Process Of Having His Doctoral Hood

                               Ceremoniously Placed Upon Him At The Podium By Dr. Jackson.                             

As Part Of His Academic Regalia, Elder Eaddy's Hooded Doctoral Vestment

Is A Scarlet Color, Which Is The Intercollegiate Coded Color Allocated

To The Discipline Of Theology Or Divinity.

A Distinction Is Made In The Code Which Calls For The Candidate

To Display The Color Of The Subject Or The Degree Obtained.

It Is A Full Shaped Hood Consisting Of A Large Cowl And Liripipe

(The Liripipe Is Merely The Tail Of The Hood), And Is Made Of Scarlet

Cloth Lined With Colored Silk.

It Is Gorgeous!

And Now, The Tam Is Being Ceremoniously Placed Upon The Candidate's Head.

Instead Of Elder Eaddy's Headdress Being The Traditional Mortar Board Or

(A Black Horizontal Squared Cloth Board Fixed Upon A Scull Cap), Elder

Eaddy Is Wearing A Traditional Doctoral Tam Which Usually Comes In

Either 4 - 6 - or 8 Corners.  It Appears That He Is Wearing The 8 Corner

Doctoral Tam, Because They Have A Tendency To Appear More Rounded Than Squared.

And Now, The Candidate Receives The Formal Doctorate Certificate!

This Represents Another Milestone In The Life Of Pastor Eaddy.

It Is Now Appropriate To Refer To The Man Of The Hour As

Dr. Michael Eaddy.  Dr. Jackson Is Exhorting The Pastor To

Acknowledge The Lord At All Times So That He Will Order His Steps

And Direct His Path In Order To Avoid Satan's Entrapments.

When The Enemy Comes In Like A Flood, God Will Lift Up A

Standard Against Him.

Today we live in a world where there is not much security or 

confidence to be had.  We have many challenges to face day to day.

The graciousness of God, along with the knowledge of who He is,

provides us with great confidence.

~  Confidence in knowing we have a Heavenly Father who cares about us

       and our well being.

~  Assurance that if we request of Him anything, in agreement with His 

       plan for us, that He listens, hears and answers us.

~  Confidence in knowing our petitions to the living God are already 

      answered, as He knows His thoughts and plans that He has for us;  

thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil - To give

      us hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

~  In our daily prayer, we should have confidence and assurance, along

       with faith and hope, because God is true to His word;  For we have a

 Heavenly  Father who cares.

                         circumstances and timely events to order his steps and

                                 to ultimately bring him from the gutter-most

                        unto the uttermost - - in spite of it all.  God set him up! 

                Eld. Thomas dearly loved The Late Bishop Christopher C. Owens

                                          and traveled the globe with him; 

                              He also embarked upon  Bishop's platform or plea

                    for love and unity within the brotherhood, and was well versed

                                    with his decisions, his struggles and storms;

                                       He was very knowledgeable concerning

                                  the nature of Bishop's unity with his members,

                                     and familiar with what he preached using

                                           the anointing and inspiration from

                                      God's Holy Spirit;  Eld. Herman Thomas

                                          was passionate concerning Bishop's

                     teachings, philosophy, and his desired platforms as a visionary.

                                      It was therefore a most appropriate and

                                             pleasing gesture in God's sight

                         to request that Eld. Thomas serve as the preacher of the

                         fifth Pastoral Anniversary of the Emanuel C. O. G. I. C.

                                                 (5 years after the death of Bishop Owens)!

                         under the new leadership of Elder Michael Richardson.
